Vineyards
The Kelly Family Vineyard is situated in the Oak Knoll District of the Napa Valley, on the West Side of the Valley along Dry Creek Road.
Our unique west valley location, where the warm sun is mingled and combined with the perfect blend of soils, drainage, and cool breezes flowing through Bee Canyon coming down from Mt Veeder, across the vineyard every evening.
This is a very unusual location that is not replicated anywhere else in the Napa Valley.
Our vineyard is hand tended throughout the year, starting in January and accelerating in April after “Bud Break”, and continues with greater intensity through the summer months and into the fall, where finally, when the grapes achieve the perfect combination of tannins, flavors, color, and natural sugars, we then harvest by hand in the coolness of the night, so that the fruit is not damaged or compromised.
The grapes are crushed that very same day so that none of that flavor is lost or compromised.
Winemakers will tell you that “The wine is made in the vineyard”. Meaning that the special care that goes into the growing of the grapes is what creates the foundation for the winemaker to work their magic.
